There were 3,506 acres of sold land in Alabama recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from August 2018. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $9 million. Escambia County had the most land sales recently in the state. Alabama takes full advantage of its plentiful natural assets, with over 1.3 million acres of public hunting lands and some of the country's most liberal hunting seasons and bag limits. In terms of size, Alabama is the country's 30th-largest state, covering an area of 52,423 square miles (34 million acres).
